Visions of Reality, by Gustav Deutsch, deals with the staging of reality, the imagination of realness. It tells the life of American actress Shirley, her private and work affairs and her reflections on her surroundings during the time of 1928 to 1965. Visions of Reality is to arouse to life fifteen paintings by American Painter Edward Hopper (1882-1967). Similar to living pictures, the people in Hopper's paintings become protagonists of minidramas, the painted "snapshots" are prolonged and events before or after are dramatized.
