Opening A New Chapter : “Get Ready” by Geoffrey B. Small
In a world led by mass consumerism and excess, Geoffrey B. Small brings a certain modesty to the table. The American born designer embraces fine handcraft, raw materials and exclusive distribution unconditionally.

Within his 2018 Autumn Winter Collection “Get Ready”, he explores the passage between generations. The runway show was accompanied by a live theatre performance, which showcased Act 3 Scene 2 of Shakespeare’s King Lear, where the aging king himself has mistakenly given away his kingdom to his two evil daughters. As the king continues to rage in fury, dark silent creatures of the new generation appear one by one, positioning themselves in the devastating world the king has created. The show ends with the king storming off the scene, opening the stage for a new group of people. They walk around, inspecting the design pieces worn by the resting models. In this context, it demonstrates a subtle symbol for the attention to detail when it comes to craftsmanship and humane ethos.
