MK House by Nicolas Schuybroek
Located in the historic city center of Antwerp, MK House is a renovation project realized by Nicolas Schuybroek Architects. Dating from the early 1800’s, the house has been modified in order to allow more light to get in and offer a more coherent disposition of the spaces to the dweller.
Connexions and circulation have been rethought to give a second life to the house, without however hiding its history. The monastic appearance and the aura of the building have been lifted by raw textures : wooden beam ceiling, distressed chevron oak floors, honed marble and a beautifully balanced collection of mid-century furniture pieces participate in enhancing the new experience of MK House.
“Our goal was to create a timeless, warm-minimalist and elegant house in tune with it’s past and the clients needs.”
