Coil + Drift Launches its New Collection: Assemblage
Coil + Drift is pleased to announce the opening of their temporary showroom during NYCxDesign and the launch of their latest collection, Assemblage. The street-level showroom, open May 15 - 19, will feature the full Assemblage collection, which is composed entirely of lighting, as well as furniture pieces from Coil + Drift’s existing collection, many shown in new finishes. The space is located in Manhattan’s Bowery neighborhood at 2 Rivington Street and is inspired by the lighting shops that once lined the area’s streets.

After purchasing and renovating his first home last Spring, Coil + Drift designer John Sorensen-Jolink decided to create custom lighting for the pre-war apartment focusing on the specific needs of the loft-like space and its inhabitants. The result was a series of lighting that felt especially personal to Sorensen-Jolink, so he decided to expand the designs into a full collection and Assemblage was born. The collection includes the Yama table lamp, with a cylindrical tarnished-brass base and a shallow cone-shaped cloth shade. Also included is Toam, a series of lights featuring a chrome and walnut exaggerated stem with matte bulbs at the end; available as a sconce, pendant, and flush mount. The Pierce light, available as a chandelier, sconce, and pendant, is comprised of robust sand-blasted glass orbs with brass stems pierced all the way through them.
