A 300 square-meter loft retreat located in the bustling 6th district of Vienna created for a private client with a passion for travel and design, the aptly named No Ordinary Apartment project by Annabell Kutucu is a celebration of fine craftsmanship.
Partitioned into two units seamlessly interconnected by wooden sliding doors, the apartment's bright and expansive open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area is defined by high ceilings and generously scaled windows, which gives the monochromatic space an airy feeling.
Metal and timber feature heavily in the design, with open shelving and pared-back fixtures that are frequently used to reduce bulk and visual clutter. The balance of light and dark hues throughout is as eye-catching as refined, with each element — the sleek black track lighting, the crisp white walls, the dark hardwood, the grey-brown color palette, the brushed concrete floor — contrasting effortlessly against the rest.
