"Sum of Us" by We Are Huntly

The brief was to create a Wellness Centre dedicated to providing a sanctuary for enhanced wellbeing. Located on High street in Prahran within an existing Victorian terrace, We Are Huntly's challenge was to transform this residential building into a functional studio space for wellness. Inspired by the concept of transformation and connection, Sum of Us is a wellness Centre incorporating Physio, Yoga, Pilates, and a café. The essence of the space was to encourage the importance of bringing together a balanced life, mind and body.

Using Pilates iconography to reference the core, movement and energy, the design enhances the natural and understated beauty of the existing shell. The design is set to honor the heritage details of the building and insert functional joinery and storage solutions for equipment. We Are Huntly's client is a dynamic and empowering group of four who came to them with a vision to create a unique welcoming health and wellness hub that encompassed a progressive service and a relaxed environment.

In response to this, the firm introduces custom light fittings and touch points throughout. The multiple rings of light reference the human core and the sum of many parts coming together to form a community. 

The Ombre blue ceiling in the Café zone wraps down the walls, its movement from light to dark is a calm and strong gesture like a yoga solute to the sun.

With the use of light toned timbers and white washed finishes we intended the space to be fresh, honest and approachable.
